High pressure for the weekend but changing.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 4/22: High pressure along the west coast is keeping skies clear over our area but the cooler temperatures will hold as conditions rebound. We will see some high clouds in the mix and gusting winds building with the heat of the day but mostly sunny conditions will be the dominant weather feature. Expect cooler conditions through the afternoon as the winds start up and have layers.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped with the cold air and clear skies to 22 for Gunnison and 18 for Crested Butte. Highs will hold to the mid to high 40’s for CB and break into the low 50’s for Gunni. Overnight lows will look about the same again tonight.

Outlook: We will see another sunny day and temperatures popping by 5-10 degrees for all elevations but expect high gusting winds into the afternoon as the pattern shifts. High pressure blows through overnight and we see the pattern lift to the northwest with a strong jetstream feeding weak waves into the area through midweek. Look for snow showers in the mornings turning to a rain mix and then possible thundershowers in the afternoons through Wednesday. We clear for a break Thursday but models lack agreement beyond that. Enjoy the sunny weekend and get outside.
