Starting a drier trend.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 5/23: We have managed to stay clear of the heavier flow of moisture holding to the south and are heading into a drier trend. Look for just enough residual moisture to fuel very isolated afternoon thundershowers on the higher terrain with some finding the lower valleys but these will be drier with more wind than actual rain. Gunnison may avoid them completely but be prepared just in case.

Temperatures: Overnight lows have stayed split with Crested Butte dropping to 29 while Gunni held to 36 again. Highs will pop by a couple degrees to 63 for CB and 70 for Gunni. Look for slightly cooler lows tonight as skies clear.

Outlook: The extended forecast is all warm and dry as this southwestern high pressure takes over. Look for temperatures to climb a couple degrees every day which will mean a little daily convective cloud cover but no moisture. Be smart if you are headed up high and take note of the impending fire ban starting May 29.
