A full weather sampler for the day.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 12/18: This big looping western trough has continued to march east with the bands of cloud cover and clear skies set to move through today. Neither will last long so expect a mix through the morning with cloudier skies early turning mostly clear after noon but only for a few hours before yet another wave moves in for tonight with increasing cloud cover. This tees up a weak northern system with snow showers this evening and into tomorrow but with accumulations limited to a trace for Gunni and 1-3 for CB.
Temperatures: Lows were significantly warmer with the clouds with CB at 4 and 7 for Gunni. Highs will remain in the high 20’s valley wide. Lows tonight will stay above 0 thanks to the clouds and snow.
Outlook: A more organized zonal flow sets up Wednesday and pushes a weak system through from the northwest that will give us a chance at a fresh candy coating of snow. This won’t be much of a producer with a trace to 2 for Gunni and CB hoping to see 1-3 turn to 2-4. The sun is back to close the week but changes are brewing and a better pattern will mean more potential into the weekend.
