Goldilocks who? A tour of the wrong side of the sweet spot.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 2/20: We never quite saw the right blend of the warm and cold yesterday with the warm holding on too long and the cold blowing in too hard. The result was a storm total at the low end of expectations. As the cold settles in it will mean a full day of tiny flakes that will likely only amount to 2 inches by the time skies start to clear tonight. Expect some gusting winds combining with these cold temperatures and respect the frostbite potential with the coldest day we have seen in a while on tap.
Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to 1 for Gunnison but stayed warmer to the north with CB reporting 8. Highs will be slow to rebound and will top out in the teens valley wide with colder wind chills. Lows tonight will drop to well below 0 with clearer skies.
Outlook: Wednesday morning will be the only really obvious gap between waves as this trough continues to feed a series of weak waves down into our area. Temperatures stay on the cold side with an inch or two possible every day into the weekend. These won’t be powder days but there should be a little fresh every morning.
