Sunny but it's going to blow.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 9/19: The Autumn equinox is still a few days away but we are getting a taste of fall with cold clear conditions. An arctic trough stretching from Canada to Utah and Northern CO grazes our area today but keeps the real cold to the north. Look for clear skies but high winds building early and continuing through the day. We have almost no chance of rain but plenty of wind so layer up.
Temperatures: Overnight lows hit our seasonal low drooping to 29 for Gunnison and 27 for Crested Butte. Highs will rebound to 60 for CB and 68 for Gunni. Look for lows tonight holding below freezing again.
Outlook: The western weather pattern is dominated by this low to the north that blows through by Wednesday with the pattern pivoting back to the southwest. Another pacific low moves southeast across the area by Thursday night and we see moisture building in the west that will give us rain for Friday and part of Saturday with an even more pronounced taste of fall as temperatures drop. Enjoy the milder temperatures while they hold.
