12/6: A sunny mix on tap.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 12/6: We are into this drier gap between waves with some cloud cover managing to slip around from the southwest. This mix of sun and clouds will serve up partly sunny conditions through the day that will slow the rebound in temperatures early and keep us slightly cooler into the afternoon. Have layers but we are still headed for a fairly mild high.
Temperatures: Overnight lows showed a valley split with Crested Butte dropping to 2 degrees while Gunnison held to 20. Highs will reach the mid 30’s but CB will be slower to get there with the colder start. Lows tonight will be more even and straddling 10 degrees.
Outlook: We are seeing a big cut off low spinning in the pacific that will act like a roulette wheel as it opens up and moves east. The pattern should push a decent amount of moisture across our area early Sunday but there will be a bit of luck involved so do your snow dance. Mostly sunny conditions will be on us to start Saturday but look for high clouds thickening into the afternoon so get an early start. Snow will continue through early Monday but clears quickly.
