1/25: Into the sunny gap.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 1/25: This quick northern wave that moved through overnight served up a quick dusting and lingering cloud cover will be clearing from south to north through the morning. We are looking at another day a lot like yesterday with mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures. Keep layers and sunscreen handy but enjoy a beautiful day.
Temperatures: The cloud cover kept lows mild with Crested Butte only dropping to 3 and 8 for Gunnison. A weak inversion for Gunni will slow the rebound today with highs topping out at 27 while CB pops to 30 and higher on the ridges. Lows tonight will drop back below 0 with clear skies.
Outlook: We hold in the dry gap between waves through early Sunday with some high clouds leaking in after noon and then thickening later in the day. Snow showers build in over night and we see the first of 3 waves that will cycle through over the course of the week. Each will be capable of just and inch or two with the sum total keeping conditions fresh. This pattern is prime for the Irwin magic so watch their totals.
