5/21: A little less but more of the same.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 5/21: We are into the base of this trough with a classic upslope pattern in place with moisture wrapping back into the Front Range and back around to the northwest. We will continue to see moisture in place but in a less favorable pattern with light snow coming in showers through the day while Irwin and areas up high along the divide continue to build snow. This lull will hold through most of the day but look for another round settling in tonight returning us to a west to east flow and offering snow again into early Wednesday.
Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to 24 for Gothic, 26 for CB and 32 for Gunnison. Highs will gain a degree or two today pushing for 40 in CB and 46 for Gunni. Lows tonight look about the same.
Outlook: The upslope pattern flattens back out into Wednesday with another accentuated trough bring the flow in from the southwest for a last hurrah through Thursday. This moisture will be more scattered but contains all the remnants of the system that wrapped back in from the northwest so snow showers will continue. Temperatures warm and accumulations will be limited with a significant turn back to spring by Friday and the weekend.
