4/11: More of the same but a windy afternoon.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 4/11: We are holding on the edges of the clear dry high pressure with a dry cold front brushing the area from the northwest that will feed windy conditions into the afternoon. This will be the limit of the change for us with continued clear skies and mild but breezy conditions into the afternoon.
Temperatures: Overnight lows stayed on the cold side under the clear skies with Crested Butte at 12 and 16 for Gunnison. Highs will rebound to the low to mid 50s depending on elevation. Lows tonight will look similar with continued clear skies.
Outlook: Monday will start out under clear skies but we are headed for changes with a more active pattern building in through the day with snow overnight. A strong trough will be dropping out of the north and down the west coast seesawing moisture into our area from the southwest. Snow starting overnight Monday will gain steam through the day Tuesday with wet sloppy travel down low and more wintry conditions up high and on the passes. As the trough moves east the pattern becomes more upslope and we slip to the windy sidelines. Lots of details remain but expect a different kind of week.
