6/19: Wetter slow cells.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- Today- 6/19: Moisture has continued to fuel some nocturnal convection to our west and we are seeing remnants early. These are more of an indication of the available fuel than a threat this morning but as temperatures heat up expect thunder cells to form. These will look like yesterday with some bigger wetting cells but also dry lightning. Expect a more active pattern threatening from early afternoon through to the evening with hit or miss cells worth preparing for.
Temperatures: Lows were warmer with the wetter conditions at 47 for Gunnison and 42 for Crested Butte. Highs will be cooler with the cloud cover topping out at 77 for CB and 82 for Gunnison. Look for similar or slightly cooler lows tonight with drier air.
Outlook: We see a trough dropping in from the northwest that will draw cooler air down the Front Range and bring back the high pressure for us from the southwest. Sunny dry conditions will hold through the beginning of the week with temperatures staying warm but nothing like last week. Expect gusting winds into the afternoons.
