10/20: Spotty high clouds and sun.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 10/20: We continue to sit on the southern end of the northern flow with scrap high cloud cover expected to mix with the sunny skies again today. We are just close enough to see gusting winds kicking up especially up high and some thicker areas of cloud cover will make you glad for layers but expect another dry mild day.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were colder at 20 for both Crested Butte and Gunnison. Highs will look like yesterday at 61 for CB and 66 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be the same.
Outlook: Mostly sunny and milder conditions hold through Saturday but we are starting to see some changes in the longer term forecast as the northern trough pushes south. A cold front dropping out of Canada will push the jet stream closer to our area introducing colder temperatures and the first chance we have seen at any moisture in ages across our area starting Saturday night. This will come with colder temperatures and snow Saturday night will turn to a mix Sunday hopefully continuing into next week. Expect change but stay tuned and plan accordingly.
