2/18: A little sun and then more snow.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 2/18: Snow showers lingered on the higher terrain and the resort saw another 2 new overnight dwindling to just a trace the further south you go. Look for a brief sunny gap this morning but yet another round in this trough will serve up snow by early afternoon with a swing at another 3-6 if we get lucky. Consistent wind will be limited but gusts won’t be out of the question. Look for continued cold temperatures and have layers. Travel conditions will deteriorate as the day progresses so watch for CDOT alerts on CBTV.tv.
Temperatures: Lows showed the snow split with Gunni staying clearer and dropping to -11 while CB held to -2. Highs today will hold to right around 16 valley wide. Lows tonight will be moderated by snow holding in the single digits.
Outlook: This northern trough stays with us through the week which will mean more cold but also moisture recirculating over our area. This is a new one and small shifts to the east and west will mean big changes in the snow but look for a gap Wednesday offering some sun but then snow again Thursday.
