3/4: Mild temperatures complicating the mix.
Crested Butte Weather and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 3/4: We are seeing moisture from the southwestern flow recirculating in around to the west and the pattern will pivot to the northwest through the day. This will open a window of the favored western flow through midday that could produce a couple more inches. All in all we are on track to see the 3-6 storm total with a swing at the higher end of expectations before it’s all said and done. It will be warm so expect sloppy travel with gusting winds as the pattern shifts.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were warm with the clouds and snow at 14 for Gunnison and 12 for Crested Butte just after midnight. Highs will reach the low to mid 30s. Lows tonight will be at or just below 10.
Outlook: As this low passes we see a southwestern flow return for the better part of the weekend serving up very mild and mostly sunny conditions through Monday. The exception to this will be a glancing blow from a northern system that could offer snow showers Saturday night but it will move fast with little effect. Tuesday will start a snowier trend but it will be feeling a lot like spring until then.
