1/18: …and the cherry on top.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update-For Today- 1/18: We saw our surge from the southwest overnight with 10 new on the powcam at the resort early. We are set to see the pattern turn to the northwest through the morning with a cold front moving in that will change the attitude of this storm. The heavier snow from overnight will see lighter snow through the morning with a max of another 2-4 before it breaks this afternoon. There’s always a chance we get lucky but a foot is a good haul. Travel will be sketchy so check CBTV.TV for local travel alerts but get outside.

Temperatures: Lows were warm at 22 for CB and 23 for Gunni. Highs will gain a degree or two through the day but expect colder temperatures with the cold front and some gusting winds. Lows tonight will be at or below 0 if we clear as expected.

Outlook: This storm has choked up on us and should be clearing into early Saturday. Some scraps may hang on the divide but this weekend is looking like the cherry on the sundae of our week with sunshine into Sunday. Backcountry travel will be dangerous with this new snow so check the CBAC report and be smart. We will see another round Sunday night and Monday with 4-6 possible but stay tuned.
