TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 8/26: Available moisture continues its slow taper as the center of this high moves back towards the NM/AZ border and we just work off of remnants recycling around the flow. Skies will be mostly clear early with a chilly start but look for the classic convective build up as temperatures warm with scattered thundershowers possible at any point this afternoon. Plan for a longer window of sun but the same active afternoon.
Temperatures: Drier air pushed lows to 35 for CB and 43 for Gunni this morning. Highs will rebound to 76 for CB and 83 for Gunni. Lows tonight will look the same or even a little cooler.
Outlook: We will be under a southwestern flow through Friday with increasingly drier air moving over the top of this southern high and afternoon thundershowers will remain a threat but more hit or miss. Friday will start a shift with a pacific trough dropping out of the northwest pushing the southern low back towards TX which will open the door for a fresh shot from the monsoonal plume with the added lift from the trough dipping in. This combo will build in through Saturday with thundershowers through the afternoon and then more consistent heavier rains possible for Sunday into the new week.
